Amy gave an overview of the musculoskeletal causes of pelvic floor dysfunction and how physical therapists evaluate and treat. She cited a study from the Journal of Women’s Health Physical Therapy that reported 87% improvement in vulvar pain after physical therapy intervention. Physical therapy as a part of a multidisciplinary approach is effective and evidence-based. Be sure to include supportive practices like yoga, acupuncture, and nutrition in your rehab plan.
