As Amy writes in her book “Heal Pelvic Pain,” there is much one can do to ease pelvic pain with physical therapy. In an article from the New York Times, “Persistence is Key to Treating Vaginal Pain,” Jane Brody writes about this as well. Check out the article here, and congratulations to our colleagues Deborah Coady and Nancy Fish for being featured in the article!
Thank you for this post. As a sufferer of Pudendal Neuralgia, has any of your research come across the severe and dibilitating condition. I have to say that physio assisted greatly during times where the conditin would flare up.
We’re glad we were able to help you! There is plenty of research that supports the efficacy and success of pelvic floor physical therapy as an excellent and non-invasive treatment option for pelvic pain that is caused by the musculoskeletal system. Pudendal neuralgia can be treated in a similar way as sciatica with manual therapy techniques, muscle and postural re-education, as well as a specific home program to suit the individual’s needs.
