Ryanne completed a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree in Dance, graduating magna cum laude in 2002, and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2008, both from Long Island University. In 2008 she began studying with the Institute of Physical Art, logging more than one hundred and fifty hours of continuing education in manual therapy. She is currently working towards a certification in Functional Manual Therapy (CFMT).
Prior to joining Beyond Basics, Ryanne spent ten years in dance medicine, starting in 2005 at the Analysis of Dance and Movement (ADAM) Center working with the therapist of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. In 2008, during her clinical studies, Ryanne worked with Westside Dance Physical Therapy, the School of American Ballet, and New York City Ballet. Upon graduation, she joined PhysioArts Physical Therapy, an outpatient orthopedic practice specializing in dance medicine and serving professional performing artist. During her seven years at PhysioArts, she worked with the Radio City Rockettes, Paul Taylor Dance Company, Gelsey Kirkland Academy and more than 15 Broadway shows.
Ryanne is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)/women’s health, International Pelvic Pain Society and the National Vulvodynia Association. Her skills in dance medicine enhance her expertise, knowledge, and passion as a practicing Women’s Health and pelvic floor therapist.
